Update: Did Fred only want the Vice Presidency to begin with? Fox News Channel's reporter Carl Cameron says VP was Fred's real goal all along. If that's true, I'm pretty annoyed at being played. (Hat tip: Ace)

McCain's recent record demonstrates a nearly complete lack of conservatism.

Fred's campaign touted his rock solid conservative principles. Endorsing McCain would mean one of two things. Either Fred's Senate buddies matter more to him than his principles, or he never really believed in those principles to begin with.
